Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Pixel Master Technologies LLC ("Pixel Master," "we," "us"), a Colorado limited liability company, covering the Casebound mobile app, the casebound.co website, and everything we provide through them (the "Service"). By creating an account or using Casebound, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms replace the version dated May 28, 2026.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Casebound. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf. You may not use Casebound if you have previously been removed from it, or if applicable law prohibits us from providing it to you.

Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Tell us promptly at support@pixel-master.com if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else. One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone, and do not choose a username or display name designed to suggest you are someone you are not.

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you create. Your library, lists, reading sessions, notes, reviews, posts, comments and photos remain yours.

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for display, and distribute your content solely to operate and provide the Service. That licence exists so we can show your review to another user, render your avatar, back up your library, and so on. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already distributed to other users and copies in routine backups.

Two important carve-outs:

• Book metadata is shared. Corrections and additions you make to a book's title, authors, page count, cover, publisher or genre become part of Casebound's shared catalogue, used by every user. That contribution is perpetual and survives deletion of your account, because other users' libraries depend on it. It is not personal to you and is not attributed to you publicly.
• Public visibility. Content you post to social surfaces, and images you upload, are visible to others as described in our privacy policy. Read that section before you post.

You represent that you have the rights to everything you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

Acceptable use

Casebound's social features are governed by our Community Guidelines, available in the app under Settings and shown to you before you first post. They form part of these terms. You agree not to:

• Post content that is harassing, hateful, threatening, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that promotes violence or self-harm
• Post content that sexualises, endangers or exploits a minor
• Impersonate another person, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone
• Post spam, advertising, chain messages, or repetitive unsolicited content
• Upload content you do not have the rights to, including scans or photographs of copyrighted material beyond a book's own cover and spine
• Upload photographs of people who have not consented to appear
• Attempt to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to reach; probe, scan or test our security; or circumvent rate limits, paywalls or access controls
• Scrape, crawl or bulk-extract data from the Service, or use it to build a competing dataset
• Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law
• Use the Service to violate any law, or in a way that degrades it for other users

We may remove content, suspend features, or terminate an account for violations. Serious violations — particularly those involving minors, credible threats, or coordinated abuse — result in immediate termination without notice.

Reporting and moderation

Every surface that shows another user's content has a control to report that content and to block its author. We review reports against the Community Guidelines and act on them. We may remove content, hide it pending review, warn an account, suspend it, or terminate it. Reviews that attract reports from several distinct users are automatically hidden pending review. We do not guarantee that we will review every report, or that we will agree with your assessment of it. Moderation decisions are ours to make. To report content or an account outside the app, or to appeal a decision, email support@pixel-master.com.

Copyright

If you believe content on Casebound infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@pixel-master.com including: identification of the work, identification of the material you say infringes it and where it is in the Service, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorised, a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act for the rights holder, and your signature. We remove infringing material and terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

Subscriptions and billing

Casebound is free to use. Casebound Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks unlimited custom lists, advanced stats and insights, unlimited book clubs, the customisable bookshelf, and the Sepia theme.

• Pricing is shown in your local currency at the point of purchase, inside the app. Prices vary by country.
• Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, not by us. Your subscription is governed by their terms as well as these.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
• Cancel through your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. We cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We do not process refunds directly and generally cannot override their decision.
• If we change a subscription price, you will be notified and asked to consent before the change applies to your renewal, as required by the platform.
• If a payment fails or a subscription lapses, Pro features become unavailable. Nothing in your library is deleted.

Availability and changes

We may add, change, suspend or discontinue features. We will give reasonable notice in the app before removing something you rely on, where we can. The Service depends on third-party providers, including book metadata sources that are outside our control. Metadata may be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Book identification from photographs is best-effort and will sometimes be incorrect.

Termination

You may stop using Casebound at any time and may delete your account permanently from Settings — see our account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or the Community Guidelines, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Except where a breach is serious or notice is impractical, we will give you notice and, where appropriate, an opportunity to export your data. The shared-catalogue carve-out and the copyright, disclaimer, liability, indemnity and governing-law sections survive termination.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that book metadata, statistics or identification results will be accurate. Casebound is not a backup service — export your data if it matters to you. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pixel Master will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, whether based in contract, tort, or any other theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) fifty US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pixel Master Technologies LLC and its members and officers from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from content you post, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a US state whose law provides otherwise, nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules of the place where you live, or of your right to bring proceedings there. Before filing anything, email support@pixel-master.com — most problems are faster to solve that way.

Apple-specific terms

Where you obtained Casebound from the Apple App Store, the following apply:

• These terms are between you and Pixel Master only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for Casebound.
• If Casebound fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Casebound.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to Casebound, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to conform to a legal requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar legislation.
• Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, settling or discharging any third-party claim that Casebound infringes intellectual property rights.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

General

These terms, together with the privacy policy and the Community Guidelines, are the entire agreement between you and Pixel Master regarding the Service. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. If we make a material change to these terms, we will notify you in the app and update the effective date. Continuing to use Casebound after a change takes effect means you accept it.
